Abstract: This article responds to an article by George Jackson Eder about the rash of expropriations and nationalizations in Latin America in the early 1970’s. While noting the positive aspects of that article, this article addresses many of the frequent and substantial factual inaccuracies marking Mr. Eder’s article, which would probably feed an attitude of righteous indignation on the part of United States interests. This article, in the interests of keeping the record in good order, offers some corrections touching on the matters in Mr. Eder’s article, including the International Petroleum Company and Peru, W. R. Grace & Co., and the Hickenlooper Amendment.
