Abstract: This Bankruptcy Law Letter analyzes Coinbase and dissects its potential impact for bankruptcy cases. Although I conclude that the Supreme Court’s read of the Griggs principle (discussed below) is overly broad, even if the Court got to the right result in Coinbase, there are compelling reasons not to extend its application to the bankruptcy courts.
